Okay, I recently installed Phlak to my hard drive, and everything seems to be going okay, except for the fact that I can't seem to configure my modem to work.

I found a guide that told me how to do it, but once I get into setserial to configure the port, it says the autoconfig isn't a command, even though it's listed in the list of commands. Well, everything else says that it requires an argument, which I'll admit leaves me baffled (not sure what syntax or argument it wants), but one of the problems is that I need to be in root, but when I load the prompt and try to login on root, it says that login must be run on the lowest 'sh'. What does that mean?

I'm at my wits end, so that any help you can give me about the setserial proceedure or how to do the 'sh' thing will be greatly appreciated.

Please post your modem model as it could be a winmodem (software modem) of which you may need to download and install drivers.

I have a Creative Modem Blaster V.92. It's the only one with designation, so I googled it and downloaded what I think are the ported linux drivers for it. I've already executed the file in Phlak, so I wold assumed they are installed.

Sorry as I wouldn't know. Did you follow the instructions and are the modules/drivers now loaded? Use

/sbin/lsmod

to check for loaded modules.
