Have you tried searching the JL forums? We do have lots of threads on ATI with one of our moderators (bwkaz) posting a lot of good ATI driver install instructions in many of them.

Also have you searched the SuSE knowledgebase or mailing lists to see what they have on ATI drivers?

yes and i'm still searching the JL forum this is my 3rd day found many ATI driver problems but not any ATI & SUSE 9.1 problems. i'm going to try and search the SuSE knowledgebase now.

Perhaps if you posted the problem (what you have tried - error messages), maybe someone might be able to help.

If all you are looking for is guides/tutorials/howto's, then I would suggest you search G4L ( www.google.com/linux ) for 'suse ati 9600' as you may find ones specificially for SuSE.
