The link is on JL's Home page, theOSNews interview about the ION distro/Element hardware.
Thought this was a pretty good deal
-Linux preinstalled.
Element computer-$799 2 GHz PentiumM laptop (http://elementcomputer.com/mambo/)
Middle box on the page-opens a PDF file. .

AAHHH PDF WARNING!!!
I'm on a Windows box right now...opening PDF files in a browser KILL this system :p
Acrobat Reader 6 doesn't help either ;)
Not a bad deal at all, If I didn't pay twice as much for my Dell 600m this would make a great substitute (add in the wireless option is a MUST!)

AAHHH PDF WARNING!!!
I just changed the link to the main web page. I didn't realize the windows users wouldn't be able to handle a little 'ol pdf file. :o
I can see it with Win2000 using IE6 and Adobe6.

PDF's are something I definitely like using better in Linux. For one thing, the PDF readers all load a LOT faster than Acrobat Reader.

I just use Reader 6 with Firefox...default
I could tweak it so it doesn't load all the crappy plugins and it would be a lot faster/better...but it's at work so I don't really care to :p

For some reason the pdf is not opening on the web, I right clicked on the top link under the "Latest Buzz" and saved it to my hard drive and then opened it. And the link on JL's home page is gone.
I'm booting up linux to see if it will do better than this windows and adobe laptop.

Yep, Slackware and Konqueror opened it no problem. And thank you for the congrats, it was derived from a post where someone wrote "I'm so confused, which distro do I need?"- just stuck in my mind for several months.

I can't find it either, but all the factory listed 700M say "available in stock May 1". I'd call them, they may have removed that link while putting up teh new ones. I'm sure they'd sell them since they still advertise it.

But ... Lycoris? I've never liked that distribution much. Too bad we couldn't get a choice of distributions ... that is, unless I stupidly missed that part of the deal :p

Mercury 700m (http://elementcomputer.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=34&osCsid=94ccf699cc029ee644460ed9671649b6)
dunno whats up but its definetly a celeron only for this one at least
