Behold. I have the power.
well. ok no power comes without its falls.
The performance of the applications shown is great however their "Snappiness" is still yet to be shown.
Dont get me wrong. They are USABLE.
IE isnt as snappy as it is in windows but then again you can exactly expect miracles.
I suppose a vmware setup would have worked nicely also.
In the meantime,
check out these images.

I'm not sure why you would want to run IE or MS Office, but that's your thing. congrats on getting them working, although bother work flawlessly without Crossover office. using just Wine.

you got crossover so you could use ie6 and office ??? i can run those with wine WITHOUT errors. what ever works.
i will have to ask though why are you using ie6 and not a linux browser like mozilla firebird dillo opera firefox netscape .....
and why use ms office when you can use open office it works just as good plus its native
i would understand a game or some other highly un-optioned program but ie6 and office i just dont under stand

ok let me clear the confusion.
First, this is the trial version of crossover.
second, some documents that are written in MS OFFICE WORD do NOT look write or open properly without anything else.
In regards to IE. I was just saying: "Hey, it works".
Just kinda happy this is all working together thats all. :)

only problem right now is i wanna switch my friend over to linux however he uses AOL as his main dialup.
I am still tackling this one.
No. he wont let go of aol. i tried.
two reasons: 1) hes a newbie and hes used to it 2) its a shared family account (AOL). no hes not a kid. (20 years old) -- boggles the mind!

show him dsl he'll change over night.
or set him up with a crapy 486 with the modem/aol dialup and use a cat5 crossover to profide the linux box with its box-dome(internet connection)

I never had any luck with Wine myself, and I liked CrossOver Office while i used it. I forget why i used it but i needed it for something or other

agreed. wine is a pain in the *** and things tend to 'just work' with crossover without all the configuration.

As far as using AOL with Linux try this link here http://www.yolinux.com/TUTORIALS/LinuxTutorialAOL.html heard it works well, although I have never tried it.
As to crossover, hey whatever works, and makes your using Linux better for you, is great. I have from time to time used the crossover Plugins.
