What do you think...?
I've been told that their forums is full of lies and they claim to have talked with the Gaim people.
What a scam...

wow, i'm running that right now!
oh wait, that's Gaim. My mistake, but what's the problem with that being that its all Open Source?

"Here’s How it Works….
While you're chatting, a small non-obtrusive ad will roll up into the window as all of your messages do. The Ad will continue to scroll up as you continue your conversation.
The Ad will NOT get in your way…
The Ad will NOT waste your time…
The Ad will NOT block your view…
If anything, it might give you something interesting to look at while you're waiting for your slow typing friend to reply. {GRIN}"
I wonder what the deal with that is though...

really nice RIP OFF gaim then release it as your own with one major change ADS
then you get spamed while chatting
(shaking head disappointingly) if i wanted ads spaming i would go back to windoze and aol or msn "get with the butt E.R. fly"
IMBlaze=STUPID
i use gaim on gentoo even though the person who wrote the install faq for it says
In fact though, I have no idea why anyone would use Gentoo anyway.
woohooo lets all change to IM Glaze so we can all compare our adds.
BETTER YET
i should rip off dsl and call it
"DARN TINY LINUX DTL"
then add in adds that dont "abstuct your view"

Gaim is licensed under the GPL. The GPL basically says you can do whatever you want with the code as long as you provide the source code and give credit to the original owner (in this case, the gaim staff).

There's a big long thread on the gentoo forums about this, some have even emailed the author.
From what I've gathered, he responded by saying he hired a programmer to make this for him, and had no idea he used an open source program, and has since skipped town.
Also, people have demanded the source from him, to which I don't believe they recieved a response, and last I checked, it also wasn't available on the site.
::shrug::
I guess the gaim devs no about it too, but, screw them...damn haters.

Aren't the gaim people the ones that had the auction on Ebay, Gaim auction (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=125291) , doesn't look like they have a whole of money (unless they sold a bunch of the $10 bills for $15) to hire a lawyer.
If no one uses IMBlaze the ads will not get any response and will not be renewed. And the support forums are down. Maybe he's pulling up his tent stakes now and getting ready to slip away.
And the Gaim sourceforge site forum has a response, Sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1018081&forum_id=665)
