I got the boot.iso and ive configured my network so i can download all the pacages or whatever :). so now im trying to get it.i think im suposed to FTP install it. and it ask for a ip to d/l it from, whats the ip? i know what a ip is im not dumb but i dont know what ip im suposed to give it. help?
also will it ask me if i want to erase any/all partitions on my system? i have freebsd installed and i want to get rid of it for SuSE. soooo will it erase it or give me a thing asking me if i want to?

the ips... ping a suse ftp mirror and note it down.

mkfs will format your partition, but suse will have a graphical utility Yast to do it for you, so you can leave that configuration for later.

ok i get the thing so i can delete partitions on YAST but what do i put for the IP?

umm the fastest one for the newest SuSE (i think 9.0)
i just need the IP for it i think

That should be pretty fast.

Find the fastest and then as already suggested, ping to get the ip address.
