I hope this isn't seen as a way for me to curry favor, but if it does-I'm posting some more! :D
Now for the nose browning:
I saw the below posting and thought of the moderators here at Justlinux, who do a hell of a job for no pay, no medical/dental, and probably not even any free food!
Think about the time you spend browsing forums and imagine the time they must put in to moderate this site- and what is the payoff? (Maybe time off for good behavior? :) )
May the Sainted Penguin bless them.

"I would like to reflect on the value for me of seeing in practice the important role of our moderators so far:
I particularly value:
- the clear instructions we had at the outset on netiquette
- the warm but professional approach of the moderators within the medium
- their gentle focussing of the discussions around key threads, opening
avenues of debate, picking up and linking strands of discussion
- the summarising of the discussions, contributing to our structuring of
the ideas that have come forward
- the opening of a new focus, creating an opening for more participants
to come forward.

For me then, this online group has been illuminating both because of the
value of the contributions, but also for the way they have been facilitated and the insights I have had into the process."

I'm sorry, this thread will be closed because it does not adhere to the community posting guidelines. :D j/k

Keep up the good work guys, without you this place would be anarchy. All the topics would be "Which distro" or "Why Microsoft is better/worse" flamewars. :D

I just wanted to add that I would like to thank all the moderators for the help in answering my questions(I ask really dumb questions). I still remember when mdwatts helped me sort out my winmodem, which was first big problem to overcome. Thank you! Many a post would've gone un-answered inless you guys had helped out. Thanks for all the help and advice!

Thanks for keeping JL running smooth.

Props out, homedawgs! :D

Not only are the mods great at controlling these forums, with everything that goes on around here *bows*, but they also are incredibly talented linux gurus (I use that word, simply because it fits), they also neve, never close a thread or delete a post without informing the original poster and/or the community.

A big thank you guys, this is the longest I have stayed at any forum.

A great job well done!!!

EDIT: How about a moderator appreciation day???

The good behavior time off is not far from the truth, they have been letting us walk around outside more often...and with the weather getting better, maybe they will let us play kickball (the big soft red rubber balls, we could hurt ourselves otherwise)

It would be awesome to have a justlinux shirt, especially if it supported what the mods do here!

That goes for our hardworking and knowledgeable mods!

We really should fund them for modding us, just as a tribute...;)

We must be very fortunate to have these mods as they are working harder than normal mods out there. They almost read every post posted in a minute and mod them. Hey, I mean this is hard and efficient work! (BOWS...)

If not for them, JL will face much vigorous flamming that is just a waste of resources. We really need to thank them. This is really a conducive place for all (newbies and experts) to come and enjoy.

Thanks all for the muchly appreciated comments. It is hard moderating at times since most of you know that you cannot please everyone all the time.

SEND MONEY !!! :D

The JL t's are  Can't wait until the warmer weather to start wearing mine again.

Is Jupitor/bproffit interested in selling tshirts? It sounds as if you may be able to sell a few- maybe have the profits go to the moderator retirement/disability/free lunch fund? Or at least get mrBen one of those inflatable rings for his chair so he doesn't have to cry so much? :D

The shirts we got were out of Brians personal funds, kudo's to him for careing!!

He doesn't have very many, but that would be cool if we could get more for everyone that want's one (like a send $10 to Brian deal or something)

One thing to keep in mind about us mods. We do this because we care for the community and the help/services that this site provides. We do not (as mentioned) want this to end up as another Slashdot (dig around the old old /dev/random...it was a mess like Slashdot is now). I always suggest to people that are looking at starting Linux or are new to it, check out this site as most questions a newbie ever has is already answered (that and Google ;))

What? Oh, yeah, not everybody lives here in San Diego...

Anyway, it seems that hard candy beat me to the post... but mine was going to be called "the moderator shrine".

Back on topic (:p) I just wanted to add to a pile of posts already here. Mods at JL are awesome!
