I just saw it on abc news, and there is this one Swedish guy that has a furniture business, and he is currently the richest man in the world : ).

On Sunday, April 4, the Reuters news service published a story crediting IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad with a fortune of more than $53 billion, exceeding Gates's $46.6 billion net worth.

<EDIT> Well.. I started reading more of the CNN article and I guess the figures are off.. I guess ABCNEWS is wrong too then. </EDIT>

at those types of prices, i highly doubt even figures really matter, they're still freakin rich in the longrun.

as taken from BBSpot (http://bbspot.com/Features/2001/04/Top_10_gates.html) :
10. $54.0 Billion - Your Assets = $54.0 Billion
9. Head of Wal-Mart at the top of list not much of a consolation.
8. Friends might see you laughing and think you're just a poseur Goth.
7. Laughing at the misery of others is not proper etiquette.
6. Could still pay to have you killed 5.4 million times.
5. There are so many other reasons to laugh at Gates, this one just not worthy.
4. May start charging for software instead of freely distributing it.
3. Wouldn't want to ruin chance at getting piece of inheritance, no matter how improbable that is.
2. He didn't laugh at you when he found out you were named "Second Biggest Loser in the World."
1. OK, go ahead, laugh if you want

only a couple of those really apply.. and its wal-mart... so....

but i like numbers 10 and 2 :)
