Well, come May, my 5 years of hard work will have finally paid off and I will have my B.S. degree in Computer science and my B.A. in Business Management. The question now is... what next? I'm currently employed by a small web firm that, although I have learned alot there and I'm kinda "top dog" when it comes to programming, it won't be able to pay what I think I deserve for my skills. I'm also desiring a job at a company that has people way more skilled than me, with a fast paced, high pressure environment.
Although I've sent out resumes to several companies, one particular sector fascinates me... government work. Specifically, I think it would be just downright awesome to work for the DOD, FBI, CIA, or NSA. I mean, after all, I think it would be a well suited job for someone who write encryption algorthims in their spare time! ;)
Anyway, I'm wondering if it would be best to enter a branch of the military to get there. It seems like it would be a great way to get there, and I'm sure my 140 credit hours will probably mean something too. Not only that, but I somewhat feel that I'm lacking in responsibility and self-discipline, and I feel some military training may help straighten me out a bit. Anyone know more about this stuff (please only reply if you're a college grad though... I don't like "assumptions" and guesses).
:D
