I currently run Mandrake 9.0 and I was thinking about upgrading. Mostly because I wanna see the new stuff in 10.0 which I already have downloaded and because I want a NEW APACHE. Right now, I have 1.3.9 or something and its the extranet server, which I dont want. I just want regular apache, i guess 2.0.49

So whats the process? Do I actually have to boot of the 10.0 cd and do a fresh install? Or can I upgrade?

I have 6 or 7 operating systems on this 2nd box. 5 or 6 windows Os's and 1 linux OS.

Will reinstalling linux, mess up my partitions? I dont remember what kind of partitions I have setup for linux. However, my windows OS's reside on 5 gig partitions.

Any Help?! :(

As far as I know you can just upgrade from version 9.x to version 10. At the boot screen just choose the upgrade installation rather than the fresh install.

Everytime I upgrade within a distro ~I like to do a fresh install, just keeping the contents of my /home directory, but that is just me.

You shouldn't have any problems with the partitions as long as you're careful with installing the boot loader - I would suggest making a boot floppy during the install so that you have a failsafe way of booting your new Mandy 10 box if all else fails. Althouogh I trhink that you can also use the first disk as a recovery disk?!

I also found this excellent review / installation wlakthrough for Mandy 10.

Have fun!!
