hello everybody, I am new to linux but ok with xp. I have downloaded several copies of the new community iso's but always get to the same error while loading.
I reboot with disc 2, then switch to disc 1 , it takes me as far as selecting the language, then accept, but then the error comes up.

It says that this disc is not in sync and that 3mdk boot file /lib/modules/cz-2.6.2 can't be located.

I have downloaded from several sources, used linux, xp ( nero ) to burn cd's, burned down to 4x.

I burned the mandrake 9.2 discs with no problem.

I am trying to make the switch to linux but need to load this .

Does anybody have any ideas? thanks in advance !

did you do a md5sum check on the disks to make sure they are all kosher?

go to http://linuxiso.org an download the md5 summer for win32 extract and then check the output to the md5sums. there should be a md5 file on the download site get that and the md5summer will verify the info for you from the md5 sum .

try this http://linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/verifyiso.html I think this explains it better.
