Received the bad word today that the Red Hat client software for our
business app won't connect to the windows server (Win2000 Server). As I am using the business app most of the work day, it means I have to stay in the windows partition (dual booting Win2000/Debian Sid):(
Naturally, I want to see if I can find a workaround for this. We have a
print server I thought I could run tightvnc on to get a connect but worry
about speed and performance. Know nothing about Wine (will be googleing right after this post) so don't know yet if that might help me
out.
I'm posting this 'cause, being so new to linux, I just don't know what's
available out there. If any of you have thoughts, I'd much appreciate your
input!!!

Thx

How exactly are you trying to connect and what type of connection (gui/commandline) interface do you require?

Wine allows you to run some Windows software on Linux while VNC is similiar to pcAnywhere that allows you to have a gui desktop between Linux and Windows.
