Hey Peeps,

Just wondering about an algorithms book. Apprently the one I had in school wasn't the best (Sara Baase's Computer Algorithms: Intro to Design and Analysis), so can anyone recomend me there favorite and why the like it?

Thanks :)

I remember and older 3 volume series on "The Art of Computer Programming" by Donald Knuth. I would check it out at the library. I think that dated 1998. There are a lot of mixed reviews on Amazon.com.

Just a suggestion.

Bill Gates has been known to say that anybody who can read The Art of Programming series and understand the whole thing, he will hire on the spot.

It is a fairly complicated text. Largely math-based, but very interesting if you're into Adv. CS and theory.

LOL! I don't know whether that is good or bad.

Nevertheless, though complicated, the books do a good job of laying the foundations for algorithms of all types. I am sure that there are a lot of other good books though.
