Gnome: transparent Menus

I was wondering how you get transparent menus and all that. I was looking around in my Gnome, and I didn't really see anything for it. Do I have to install a totally new theme?

GNOME does not have transparent menus "and all that." I remember seeing a patch for drop shadows awhile back, and there may be other patches out there. But they are not in the official GNOME sources.
