Switching Desktops in Gentoo

I'm tired of my old Gnome.
So I
#emerge fluxbox

But after my reboot, it is still my gnome.
How do I switch?

I can't find my .Xclients-default in my home dir.

I really enjoy using fluxbox with Gentoo.

I am now using fluxbox.
However, the background for any theme I installed is just plain black.

Anyways, I am also reading the other post here that discusses this same problem.
