I tried updateing my sound configuration in SUSE and all I did was mess it up even worse so now I don't get any sound at all. I downloaded the newest ALSA release and I can't get it installed. I have a Sound Blaster 16 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

Why can't you get in installed? Have you searched the forum or google.com/linux ??

What did you do while updating your sound configuration in SUSE? I would think the SB16 would be well supported in the version of ALSA included with SuSE 9.0.

How can you not get it installed? Could you elaborate a bit?

And search the forums for 'alsa' as it has to be the most popular topic these days. You'll find plenty of suggestions and links to documentation.
