So I'd like to use XFS filesystem for my slackware 9.1 box. I used xfs on a slack 8.1 system and tried with 9.1 but when I booted for the first time (and every other time after that) it would give me an error about missing modules then boot to a working system

Then I messed up and had to re-install anyway so I went for reiserfs. Then I found some packages on the slackware 9.1 CD2 called xfs*modules*someting.

What is the procedure for setting up an xfs system with slack9.1. Anyone done it? Will this error message go away if I install those xfs packages on CD2?

Thanx for your attention and help...

It's missing the XFS kernel module, which shouldn't be hard to fix. Here's a guide I found that might help:

I finally got round to reading the documentation on the CD's through and found it mentioned in RELEASE_NOTES.

The XFS kernel modules package on the slack9.1 CD2 is the package I'd need to install. they're in /extra on the second CD for anyone else.

Thax for the reply!!
