Title says it all. It can't be deleted from the desktop......anyone found a setting to get rid of the trash?

You could try removing the Trash section from /home/<user>/Desktop/.directory and /home/<user>/Desktop/Trash.

Search how I did it forum for "removing xawtv icon". I think they are related.

Hi,
I was waiting for something to reply the same question , While in the mean time, use Karamba calendar to cover the trash can,:)

I was able to kill the trash by setting the path to trash (under "Paths" in the ctrl center) to a different folder. That for some reason makes the icon "deleteable."

While you're at it, you might as well change the path to the desktop to something inside ~/.kde, so that it takes that clutter out of your home dir.
