I did the ./configure for the pekwm install (everything seemed ok, except the makeinfo. It was "missing"). The complier created the make file and I ran make. Seemed like it installed fine but I can't seem to run it.

It doesn't appear in any of the session options. I'm using redhat 9.

Man, I hate this session junk, it all depends on how your distro is set up and which *dm you use and such :/ I couldn't get it to work in RH but in slackware there is some session information under /etc/X11/xdm/Session/ and you had to edit a Xsession file somewhere Maybe there is something like that in RH? Look around in the /etc/X11 directory It should be in there somewhere. Sorry for the vague answer but I have had many troubles like this myself and only know how to do it in Slackware.

thanks for the effort. I'm going to ask my unix professor when I see him for some help.

Try this:

su
nano /etc/X11/Sessions/pekwm
(just put the line "/usr/bin/pekwm" in this file and save it)
chmod +x /etc/X11/Sessions/pekwm

Logout and select pekwm from *dm
