I have upgraded my Mozilla. Now the menu items won't launch the program. I tried editing properties as root but it says I can't change redhat-web.desktop. I changed the panel to launch my new Mozilla but my menu is outdated. Is there a way to change the menus?

Right-click on the menu launcher and choose Menu Editor.

By menu launcher you mean the redhat icon leading to the main menu or that somewhere else?

Thanks for the help

I meant the Red Hat icon for the main menu, but if you want to edit the shortcuts for the icons in the kicker you can also right-click them and choose "Properties".

When I edit the properties even as root I get this error;

Cannot save changes to launcher

Details: Error writing file 'applications:/Internet/redhat-web.desktop': Read-only file system

I checked the redhat-web.desktop file and it's rw-r-r so root should be able to change it. I think it should be possible but some have told me it just can't be done with my RedHat 9 version of Gnome.

Thanks

A known problem?

You could check Redhat's bugzilla site to see if this problem has been reported and hopefully a solution is posted.
