Mouse stops when loggoing out.

When I log out of KDE the mouse stops. When reseting the X server at the KDM login screen by doing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace it starts working again. No problem with gdm. Using the latest debian unstable. Anyone solved this kind of a problem?

All I can think of right now is to check your system logfiles at the time the mouse stops working.

Logfiles in /var/log with the main one being /var/log/messages and also /home/<user>/.xsession-errors.

What type of mouse? Serial, PS/2 or USB?

Thanks, I'll try that when I get back to that machine. It's a PS/2. I googled for this problem and found something similar had happened to some others as well but nobody had a solution.
