Meh . . . pretty old.

Shouldn't it just be "girls = evil" without the "girls = sqrt(evil)" ? I enjoyed the joke, "money is the ROOT of all evil" , evil^2. Sorry about pointing out the flaw in your math, taking a calculus class forces you to check your work twice. Trogdor, you Cajun? Or do they say "meh" elsewhere in the country?

I think a more appropriate way of putting it would have been to state the obvious and say
evil = money^2
evil = sqrt(evil);
girls = evil

Time AND money, so you should write
girls = time + money;

Afte dating some of the girls I've dated, you'd know that it is really
girls = time * money
;) :D
edit: hey I just hit 2^7 posts....

time = infinite + priceless
women = infinite + priceless
money = waste of time
this post = waste of time
time = women
money = this post

Not if you're using the sum-of-products method. ;)
I think. :(

Really, it should be:
girls = > less_time;
less_time = less_money;

So, am I correct to infer that you would rather be stuck in a room full of un-showered male geeks for the rest of your life? with one of those filters installed too, to filter out the obscene parts of the internet...

No. You would be incorrect. You would however, be correct if you were to infer that I would rather be stuck in a room full of terminals, servers, clusters, switches, a fast internet connection and ample reading material. Companionship of any type is highly over estimated in it's ability to yield any kind of long lasting satisfaction. :eek:

Your well-thought out theorem has one major flaw: money is NOT the root of all evil.
It is the LOVE OF MONEY that is the root of all evil. Therefore, you must rethink your algorithm. Money itself is amoral.

That was a good point.

I, and anyone else who has actually read Chaucer knows this. However, I didn't make up this formula myself. I saw it written in psudo_code somewhere, and translated it to java. I was hoping someone would come up with the same in c, c++, perl, python, or whatever.
However, if it's given that the love of money is actually the root of all evil, and girls really love money, then doesn't that mean that girls are the root of all evil?

No because this logic is flawed as well. For women don't really love money. They could care less about money. They love things...yes things. Which encompasses a much more broad scope. So really, things are the root of all evil. Now of course, we could throw a loop in here for sure. Somebody be sure to include the break because this can go on forever.

I have a feeling it's supposed to be a joke. You guys need to take things less seriously.

The joke is that it's serious. Perhaps one just needs a dry sense of humor to get it.
