University choices

I'm a student attending community college and high school in Arizona at the moment, and I need to know where to go.

I want to major in Media Studies and hopefully (some day) put out a periodical. However, I have become very close to linux and I want to know if there are any schools in the country that are Linux based, so that I can stay with Linux and not have to worry about compatability issues when gimp isn't working and I haven't been saving my files as photoshop, or as microsoft word documents, or whatever madness that I would have to put up with if I were to be the only student in 200 who uses linux.

Any suggestions?

Some of the stronger computer science schools like MIT, Cal Poly, Purdue, University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Texas, Ohio State, Berkley, Stanford, Oregon State, etc deal with open source projects quite a bit. I looked at Arizona and Arizona State, both seem to have a decent computer science dept.
But in media studies, you may have to go with the flow, especially in the USA. They are going to use what the majority of their industry is using. In publishing and graphics, that may well be Macintosh. Linux publishing and graphics are good but their reputations in that particular field are not as high as Apple's.
And the publishers and printers you send your work to after graduation will determine what you use. If they can use Lyx/latex and linux graphics that will be great.
Plus Microsoft gives a lot of research grants to universities. This will tend to influence the faculty and curriculum.
The student body will be like the general public- 80-90% will use Microsoft and the others will split between Macintosh and opensource.
to sum it up, I do not think there is a "linux based" university or college in the USA. Hopefully I am wrong.
