I've just starting using debian. since KDE has released 3.2 I was wondering if anyone has an idea of how long it is usually before it can be downloaded via apt-get?

Cheers

Current CVS / Stable release at:

deb http://rs.fuzz.nl/muesli/686/kde_head/ unstable/

* These are for 686 machines only ***

Create a sources.list in you /etc/apt directory with the above only.
*** Backup you current sources.list *****

apt-get update
apt-get -s dist-upgrade # displays upgraded .debs
apt-get dist-upgrade

Cheers I have done as you said and I now have the option to download KDE 3.2 and I will do it as soon as I have worked out how to get XFCE4 to load properly with KDM.

I've went and broken it now (I thought I would end in this position). I've removed all of the base KDE programs but it will not install the new ones

It just comes up with a list dependancies that aren't met.

I think it's looking for a newer verison of QT or libarts1 which I don't have

it brings up

Depends: libqt3c102-mt but 3:3.2.1-6 is to be installed
