I'm running Mandrake 9.0 and KDE.

I've donwloaded several wm applets, such as wmBinClock and wmnet and would like to get them to dock in KDE's panel. I could do this easily enough in gnome but KDE won't let you unless the applet is shown on the Add-Applet menu when right-clicking the panel. If I run them from a terminal, they park themselves in the upper left corner and won't budge. I would appreciate any assistance with this.

Have you done a search fo the installed KDE applets to find out where they are contained? This might give you and idea of how to accomplish what your looking for.

Right-click on the kicker ( taskbar ) and select: Add >> Panel >> Dock Application Bar

Then start your windowmaker applet, it will be automatically docked onto the bar. Personally I would prefer it to be on the main taskbar but this is better than nothing.

For those who wish to RTFM see:

http://docsrv.sco.com:8457/en/KDEdoc/kicker/dock-application-bar-extension.html

or if that is too long: http://tinyurl.com/3go5y

Now how to get wmweather+ started without a terminal running. (The answer to your first question is: Yes, when I started from the menu I've got the "run in terminal" option unchecked.)

Hope this helps,

Davo

I was playing around with this, and this is pretty cool! I had no idea that that's what that baris for! Are there any knockout apps that I can put down there? I've always been a fan of wmnet, but it seems a little screwy docked.
