Hi all,

I run slackware 9.1 and have kde installed.
I wish to run XDM instead of KDM, to save some RAM, But I couldn't find how to enable a window manager menu for XDM.

I know I can change the .xinitrc/.xsession, or run startx, but this is not good enough. Sometimes I want to run XFCE and sometimes KDE. KDM enables choosing the one I wish to run, but XDM does not.

Is there a way to tame the beast?

Thanks for your time,

Thanks for your reply Sharth!

Although what I expected was something like a login manager with a WM selector, still, selectwm did the trick!

Thanks for your help!

I know thats what you wanted, I just wasn't sure if xdm even supports that, and If it did, it would probably involve some weird stuff.

might look into wdm though, It might have what you want.
