Heres a strange one.

I've been playing around with my new mandrake 9.1 and KDE3.1, trying out all the diffrent apps and stuff one of which was Gnome Icon Editor thing (can't remember the correct name, not at Linux box just now).

Here's the strange part, whenever i startup now (even a warm boot) the IconEditor app starts automatically and recently I went in to the app again, now I get two instances of the app on startup!!!

What's up with that, how can I rid my boots of this blight??

Thanx.

I've tried the local priest, but no luck!!, he sent me here.

Haven't got the heart to take the axe to it (just yet). May threaten it with a windows 95 installation:eek:

Have a look in the KDE docs (in the start^H^H^W KDE menu) for 'autostart'.

This could probably be related to "Save Session" when logging out - and having those applications running without closing them first.
KDE will then do as instructed; Starting those applications when you log in again.

The solution should then be; Close all applications, select Save Session when logging out.

Cheers :)

Your right...on more than one occasion I have experienced this.

Deselected the 'save session' thru the KDE Session Manager, and success.

Thanks to everyone for the replies, the team works!!

(Although found john_T's first method rather erm...unorthodox)

Good Work Fella's
:D
