Hi!

I am having trouble with my soundcard. There seems to be a little buzzing sound like there was a short circuit somewhere. I am anyway certain the problem is not with hardware because sound works under XP just fine. Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks!

My rig:

Dualboot XP/MDK 9.2
Asrock k7s8x
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 333
MSI Gefoce4 Ti 4200 128 Mb
Creative Audigy Platinum ex
HDs Maxtor 60 & 80 Gb
LG cd/rw
LG dvd

Are you using OSS or ALSA?

Do you have a mic hooked up? This might be the cause. Try muting the Mic.

Thanks a lot, Joey! It was the mic.

Kewl Beans.

Glad I could be of help. Nothing like hitting the bulls eye with a shot in the dark.

Actually an educated guess, but still. I had this problem one time a long time ago. For a complete solution I just started using my mic on my mixer that is hooked up to line in and no more buzzing ever. Besides the mic is much better quality then some of those cheapo computer mics.

Surprise! The mic I've been using is one of those old crappy Creative computer mics. Luckily I have one heavy duty AKG stored somewhere. That should do the trick!
