I was wondering if anyone out there uses the Abit NF7-S mainboard. I know nvidia makes the chipsets for them and I pretty sure they have drivers but I've never used them before. Can anyone recommend this board and it's linux usabilty?

I have an Asus A7N8X-E motherboard which uses the nforce2 chipset. I don't have any problems with the board at all aside from the gigabit nic not supported under the Fedora Core 1 kernel (it is supported under 2.4.24 I think). I haven't tried out onboard sound, firewire or SATA yet, but they appear to work. My only suggestion would be to use the .tar.gz file to install the kernel modules instead of the RPM. You have to do a little editing of /etc/modules.conf, but it isn't bad.

I have an A7N8X board, and I love it... I've heard about some problems using non-nvidia cards in the AGP slot (the video drivers activate some AGP features or something) but I think that has passed...
also could be a problem is you are a huge GPL fan... their drivers are closed source, so youd have to "taint" your kernel to install them.. didn't bother me /that/ much, but its a consideration...
I'd recommend a nforce board... highquality onboard is pretty nifty... I just can't figure out what to do with my PCI slots!
