I done some searching and found only how to setup dual monitors with a dual headed card. Well i don't have a dual headed card, i have an agp and a pci. I've edited the heck out of my X11F86Config, and done some test crap to see if it would work but i can't seem to get it working, so can some one please tell me how, i don't want a vidcard and monitor to got to waste. Thanks

Help Files are your friend... :)
This HOWTO I wrote (http://www.justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112305) will tell you exactly how to set up dual monitors using two video cards.
I started with two video cards, but I've since moved on to a dual headed card. Once you've configured one, it's easy to do the other.

I have been using the link off the post, and do get the both monitors to react, although not in a good way. I will post my testConfig wheni get home but basically when i run the X -xf86config /root/XF86* The Secondary Monitor Starts up and i see the version info, but the seconded one act like its going into another view mode then stops, iget the cable disconected error on screen but the Second Monitor has a blinking cursor. I'v tried different screen resolutions and bit depth but nothing fixes it.

By all means, post your XF86Config file. It can do nothing but help.
Also, if you would, post what video cards you're using. It could even be there's some incompatibility with either your motherboard or the two video cards. I'm thinking that actually running two cards can be kind of hairy-- I've even used card pairings that haven't worked out. If you can, try an make sure that the cards can support similar bit depths and screen resolutions, and that they have about the same amount of video RAM.

i recently unistalled mandrake 9.2 and switched back to Slakware 9.1, i still have same problems but this time it does start up in xdm, second monitor not very good looking, but that can be tweaked,, i am getting a new error though
char-major-226
char-major-10-134
I probably had those errors int MANDRAKE it was so slow i rebooted after about five minutes of nothing.
I can't seem to get my xconfig to copy to the "internet" computer, but it basically looks like the one tutorial. The Cards are as follows:
AGP(main):
Ati All-in-Wonder Radeon w/32mb using the Radeon 8000 driver (will change soon to see if that works better)
PCI(secondary):
Silicon Integrated Systems SIS
using the SIS 6326 (or somthing like that)
the AGP can run up to 32(24 supported by x) "1280x1024"
the PCI can run up to 16 "1024x768"
I read that the server only allows resolution not bit depth diffrences so i have been using the 16 setting for both, i hope that helps, btw i use to have the command written but seem to have lost it for doing text based X configuration, i'll try to find it but if someone could post it that would be nice.

Here's a question for you:
Are you using the same resolution on each card?
Again, you may want to go with the lowest common denominator for the cards. It could very well be that X is having trouble driving the resolutions for each card.
Do you have another PCI video card you can use for your setup? If that card can't support more than 16 bit color at 1024x768, that's probably a pretty old card. Maybe you should try using a newer card. Also, are you sure that both cards work properly by themselves under X?
