Can any one explain to me what is the meaning of pcmcia?
is it that same as windows device drivers meaning you have a list
of device drivers in the pcmcia.conf file and it tells the system what to load.

if so how do i find these drivers? I need a module for a network wireless card netgear MA701 cf card.

I took a look at the modules list for netowrking and saw that all the cards listed are loaded with prism2_cs module can I add more modules?

I should have started with that but my card is not loading and that is the reason for all these questions?

device is sharp sl5500 rom 2.38

PCMCIA is the little slot in laptops where you can insert cards.

(Personal Computer Memory Card International Association card). A lightweight, removable module about the size of a credit card that adds features to a portable computer. Its official name is the PC Card. A PCMCIA card may add memory, modem and networking capability, a radio transceiver, more hard drive space, or enhanced sound. It is a plug and play device which uses a 16-bit socket and a 68-pin connector. All PCMCIA cards are the same length and width, but varying thicknesses are used for laptops, palmtops, etc., and according to amount of storage space required.

It's basically the same as configuring any card...
