Ok, after 6 months of not having a computer in the house running linux, i am finaly going to try again with a semi-modern distro. (running a 5 year old buggy mandrake distro on an obsolete computer dosent cut it.)
So, this computer isent that great, and i hear that Debian is pretty good on oldish computers, so i decided to try it out. I've been though the linux install prossess a few times, so i didnt think that was going to be my problem. as it turns out, it isent.

my problem is that the best way to get debian is something called jigdo.
i have had no experiance with it whatsoever, and i'm sort of lost. the included file on downloading debian is no help, as it seems to assume that the program comes pre-setup with the location to download linux from. it also seems to assume i'm already using the program in linux.

can any one help me?
i am using jigdo for windows version 0.7.0a, and i need instructions on what to type and where. I would like to download the latest version of debian. (preferably from a server in south-east USA)

thanks!

EDIT: never mind. i found an ISO image. however, if ayone still wants to tell me how to use jigdo it would be appreciated.

don't bother with jigdo, it isn't very good, well documented, or prone to work :)

There are many Debian installation guides available on the web such as
