Ok after many months working with linux and getting help from these and various other BBS , I need to know another question. Will debian run on a 166 with 80 meg of ram?

Yes.
You should be able to install Debian on anything from a 486 (with co-processor, IIRC) up, with 16M or more of RAM.
I have a P120 with 80Mb ram running Debian happily.

it will also run on a i386.
and, you can add math coprocessor emulation into the kernel if you dont have one :)
