Gentoo Load Problem

Greetings Guru's -
Ok here is the deal. I have the initial gentoo installation complete and I have come to the reboot step. I rebooted the box and it starts going through the checks but all of a sudden it comes to this:


Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.12
Partition check:
/dev/ide/host2/bus0/target0/lun0:

The cursor just sits there blinking like it is waiting for input.

Here is my partition layout:
dev/hde1 boot ext2
dev/hde2 root ext3
dev/hde3 swap

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

In the meantime, I would suggest you read the Gentoo installation docs again to ensure you followed the instructions correctly and also try the Gentoo forums to see if another Gentoo user has reported the same problem and hopefully a solution is posted.

did you leave the install CD in when you rebooted?

No, no Gentoo users were able to help with this. I was able to get Fedora Core reinstalled on the box. I went through the Gentoo load 3 times but no luck. I will try it later on a more up to date box and see what I get, right now, I am happy that I got FC loaded, it was a pain just to get that.
