finally managed to get the file I downlaoded using my windows partition onto the linux partition

But now when I try to run the GFX installer package it mentions not being able to run files that are binary

What have I done wrong this time?

BTW I have no access to anything with my installation except the console and am very new to linux

It is NVIDIA drivers I am trying to install STILL!

lol

Please advise me what to do next :)

I think you have the wrong driver. Go here and download the driver. Unless you have one of those 64 bit rigs, this is the one you need.

There is a how to I wrote on hoe to install that thing but since you are already in command line you should not need it. Just cd to where it is at and type in the command

sh <name of file>

That should install it for you. Type in startx to test the driver.

That help?

Oh, you may want to include your distro in your question. Some distro's are different.
