I'm having a problem to install red hat 9 on my pc.. I go in the disk druid and i press new to add a partition but when i press ok i get this error:Could not allocate requested partitions: Partitioning failed: Could not allocate partitions as primary partitions ... what should i do?
(I'm a newbie and haven't installed linux before and i didn't add any partitions on my hard disk with other programs like partition magic)

Have you tried to create a logical partition instead of a primary?
Are there any other partitions on the drive?

How can you do that with disk druid? If it is to uncheck the box that says "Force to be a primary partition" i 've done that.

No... As i said i've just installed windows on my hard disk and haven't done anything else.(i have 8 gbs free space)

See if the partitioning sections in the RH 9 online installation guides help explain how to setup your HD before installing.
