I don't know if this road (Arjan's rpm) is the best way to go. If there's someone that recommend it, please tell me exactly what rpm's to get and in what order I should install them.

If you recommend the traditional way (compile from source), will I have to do it in a different way in Fedora (before I start or during he process)?

I have tried Arjan's rpm and have had total success. I have also compiled from source and had the same success. Both work just fine on my fedora systems.

Download the kernel-2.6.1-1.126.i686.rpm and kernel-source-2.6.1-1.126.i386.rpm. Get the smp kernel if you have more than one cpu, otherwise these are the ones you need.

Note: you will have troubles if you have an nforce mobo. I haven't been able to resolve all those issues yet, but my testing machine has had 2.6.0 and 2.6.1-mm2 work just fine.

What ever you do, I would recommend recompiling from whatever source (redhat's custom 2.6 or a vanillia) adn removing drivers and such that you don't need.
