I am trying to install Mandrake linux on an older computer of mine. The BIOS on that computer is old, so it doesn't support booting from a CD-Rom. I made a boot disk using the rawrite tool and the provided cd image, but if I boot my computer with the floppy boot disk in and cd in, but the computer just says the following:

SYSLINUX 1.67 Mandrake Linux Boot Failed

I have tried some other boot disk images, but with no luck.

Any suggestions on how I could get the boot disk to work?

I found the following with a G4L search for your error message.

Yeah, this is a very common problem with rawrite, especially if you used an older floppy. I'd try a new one.

So try using other diskettes (new if possible).
