A console that hooks up to your TV, drop in a pc game disc, automatically installs it, then play any pc game on your tv. Supposed to download the patches if connected to the web. Saw the demo, the games look good on the tv- like a xbox.

Mean it's not already?
Google doesn't say if it has been (or is not telling :))
I'll bet Knoppix will run fine on it out of the box :D
But I will not be getting one of these, ever, so I can't say

It all depends on what the priorty is to corupt that sys.
I would say Micrsoft issues a virus for it because the console could lead to fun and good times:D

I read where the going price will be about $400.00 almost twice the amount of a xbox, Which is also embedded with ms xp. The apex console will have a 1.4 ghz processor, a 40 gb hd, 256 ddr ram, Thats just for the low-end models. The web site stated that there will be different configurations on the model. The high-end models will have a 3.2 ghz processor ect and be upgradable. Aside from playing games, the console will be able to play dvd movies, cd music, and view picture files, Not bad if you ask me. The only problem is to update it, Drivers, ect. you have to sign on to the internet..... I wonder if there is a firewall service included with this "console"? If no I am most sure there will be a huge conflict when the update server gets a virus, and passes it on to mIllions of users of said console. I am sure that most of these "consoles" will be connected to the internet via Router connected to thier cpu. I forsee this as being the mole! ;)
