I am using Mandrake 9.2. I went into the installation utility that comes with it,RPM, and selected a bunch of things I wanted and went through (i think) except, now when i go back into Mandrake most of the software that WAS there is gone and the softwaer that i thought I had installed is gone too. I have some basic things but not nearly as much as i had before nor as functional (to me). On top of that, it seems my RPM configuration thing is gone. I cant access it.

So i thought i was installing programs and turns out i barely have any programs now and on top of that my install program is gone.

Can anyone help me with this, or direct me where i can find more information on this. I don't mind reading manuals or what now, but i really have no idea where to start. This is actually the second time this is happened, the last time i just re-installed Linux, but im not interested in doing that again so there has got to be a better way.

thanks.
