What do you do when you are stuck on an windows computer? Customize your gui to make it linuxy? Run cygwin? What?

Use a cd based distro:

SSH Client + VNC Viewer + Internet connection

I always have a Linux machine running somewhere to connect to. :)
In fact, I did all of my university work this way in my first year, since the classrooms were almost all Windows machines. I have a laptop now though.

Um... use it the way it is.

Seriously :) Though I'd prefer it to be WinXP, I can do with Win98 SE and Win2K Pro. Plus I utterly despise WinME so I'd rather not use that at all.

...That'd about be my response. These days, I don't care what OS I'm using, so long as it's getting the job at hand done. If I'm at a school or a workplace where I have no choice, I'll just use what's there. I'll just get my Linux/FreeBSD fix at the house if I have to.

Now, if I have to communicate with a *NIX box, then I go a little batty. I will get everything from puTTY to a VNC client on there, whatever I think I might need to talk to that system.
