I know it's not new and certainly not very usefull, but I was wondering if someone here is using or has used an animated boot logo ?
There is a post about it here (http://www.ussg.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0102.1/0682.html) , but the link to the file is broken, and I couldn't find such a file anywhere else !
If someone can points a place where I can find this kind of useless thing... it would be welcome :)
Or maybe someone has still the file and can send it to me by e-mail ? It would be great !
I just want no to scare people when I boot and say them "See, that's a linux system, don't you like it already ?" ;)
Oh, and don't say "Don't use this, you won't be able to see the error messages !". For two reasons :
First : I noticed that SuSE made a completely graphical bootup (version 8.2 I think), but you could go back to the usual messages simply by pressing "F2". It is in fact a modified version of LiLO, supporting VGA or VESA display and handling keypresses & events (like timeout,...).
Second, which is the most important one : why do you imagine that there could be an error message at boot ? :)
