I got a ice scraper to clean off my monitor in the morning, usually I have to warm up the monitor to melt the frost but the scraper will cut the time I have to wait to start cruising the net. Also, Bon Bon made me a anti-electrostatic wrist band using a leather belt and barb wire. And he found a field mouse that had been run over by a logging truck on State Hwy 78 last week, we let it dry real good and are using it for a mouse pad. We hope everyone had a good Christmas or whatever you celebrate, and we are looking forward to the new year on this here LinuxQuestions.org site! o0zi 12-26-2003, 11:29 AM (gasps) LinuxQuestions.org? Never utter that name again...:p nothingbutlinux 12-26-2003, 11:51 AM I got a TIVO sysytem for Christmas. Since I'm going to be expanding the storage space with a new hard drive, I think it qualifies as computer related. These things run Linux too! I also bought my son the network adapter for Playstation. He's already been busy challenging people on the 'net to Madden 2004 games. Sheesh, what a geek! hard candy 12-26-2003, 03:11 PM (gasps) LinuxQuestions.org? Never utter that name again... My mistake, I thought I was somewhere else. Funny thing happened, we was using the dried mouse pad and all of a sudden the mouse locked up! Cursor wouldn't move or nothing, I took the the mouse apart and found out the mouse ball was jammed on a mouse ball- must have been a male field mouse the truck ran over. Bon Bon went next door and got an optical mouse since the neighbors were off shopping. Works good, glides right over the rib bones sticking up. nickptar 12-26-2003, 04:09 PM A subscription to 2600 and a scanner. raz0rblade 12-27-2003, 04:43 AM ipod 20gb iskin exo2 new mouse lian-li pc65 korn - take a look in the mirror debian coffee mug stickers debian swirl. #!/usr/bin/perl, hacker in japanesse drum set red hoody tribal swirl thingys belt I'm happy :) Parcival 12-27-2003, 07:50 AM I didn't get anything computer related for Christmas - my folks think it's better I buy the stuff as they have no clue about it. DSwain 12-27-2003, 09:17 PM oh alright, well i was just checking. if you're not a huge gamer or anything, that's probably a fine card to have. if you are, i'd reccomend going for a GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. DSwain 12-28-2003, 08:13 PM Well, thats news to me, but for some reason i doubt that it will be like that forever, plus you probably still could on a firmware level (the BIOS and things like that) and the Geforce FX 5700 on best buy is at $200... ouch ! Yeah, good point but i heard its a great card. if you're looking economical, grab the 5600 Ultra, i think around 130-150 which is good. Card works pretty darn good for me too. EnigmaOne 12-28-2003, 09:15 PM I gave more than I got this year--which is more fun for me--mostly full systems and the odd-DVD-burner or two. I did get 3 more SyncMaster 192Ns (+ VESA mounts) to plug into my video cards. I can finally work in comfort...but I now need a bigger desk. The kids got so many games this year, that I'm spending the weekend building them a dedicated windoze gaming system (makes 3 windoze systems in my house...the outrage of it all!); which, if it crashes and burns, I hope it actually catches fire. [edit} silly me....of course I really mean: "which, when it crashes and burns, I hope it actually catches fire." It'll only be a matter of hours.... [edit] I counted wrong on the original writing, where I incorrectly said '2 windoze systems', and they've been just as crashy as one could expect. No fires tho'......bummer.
