Hi,
I'm trying to get a Umax 1220U scanner working on my father's iMac (but I don't think this problem is necessarily Mac-related)
The machine is running Yellow Dog 2.3, with 2.4.19 kernel. I have installed Sane 1.0.13 backends and 1.0.11 frontends - all compiled fine etc..
I have created a device node at /dev/usbscanner0 and
sane-find-scanner finds the scanner no problems...
But - when I try scanimage -L a message appears reporting that no scanner was found.
I have checked that the scanner module is loaded, checked and fiddled with umax1220u.conf, checked dll.conf, checked permissions and even checked ld.so.conf (using dynamically linked libraries), all appears fine..i've also tried plugging the scanner into different usb ports on the machine, just in case..
The only possible thing i can think of is that there is an issue with the scanner module?
anybody got any ideas?
