I just downloaded and installed UT2003, I havent played a computer game (besides solitare) since warcraft 2 came out when I was 12. When it installed it said all I have to is type ut_2003 and it would work. It didnt. So I go to /usr/local/games/ut2003 and ./ut2003, that doesnt work either.
After some searching Im still lost. It has nothing to do with permissions. The game starts but while its loading this little window pops up in the middle of the screen. Then it exits abnormally. Any ideas?

The little window popping up is the UT2k3 Epic / Digital Extremes / Atari logo, right?
What kind of 3D video hardware do you have, and have you done anything with drivers for it?
Yea it looks like its loading then stops.
I have an intel built-in video card. :( Using the i810 driver.

Well, I don't have any idea but it would probably be the intel video card, I have a computer with an intel card and UT2k3 barely works in WINDOWS on that thing.

I could be wrong on this, but I think the demo requires an nVidia card to work. I have not run the demo, I have the full version. so I could be wrong.

The updated demo and an updated full install don't require S3TC to run
I just went back the website. The release is from 9 months ago.
Does anyone have a more reasent version I can try?

no chance of geting UT2003 to work with that graphics card, it bad enough on my ge-force 2.
