Most Windows based sites have atleast a forum dedicated to alternative OSes. serz 12-04-2003, 12:07 PM I guess because they're unix-like too? mrBen 12-04-2003, 12:49 PM I think it's just there so that we can all laugh and point at people who post there. bandwidth_pig 12-04-2003, 08:44 PM Originally posted by mrBen I think it's just there so that we can all laugh and point at people who post there. Bah. Reminds me of the typical Slashdot "FreeBSD is dead" trolls that are so common these days. Robotman 12-12-2003, 08:22 PM You would be suprised at the similarities between Linux and the other Unix based operating systems. With the newer versions of Linux doing an auto install for you,it helps to have some info from the other types of unix based OS's when something goes haywire. They are remarkable the same as to way they operate and configure to your computer. I work with IRIX, Lynx and windows based systems. As well as Linux and Windows systems at home on my home network justlinux.com
