Just wondering if anyone knows where and how i can get my hands on a linux port/way to play quake2 on my linux os.

You do still need the maps, skins, and whatnot else off the Q2 install media, though, since this is only a port of the engine. The art and maps and whatnot will probably never be released to the public. The good news is that there is some way to get the info off the Windows Q2 CDs, I just don't remember what it is...
