Hi
Just wanted to know whether this will cause any problems.
I am going to use umsdos
I have the full 4 cd set of Slack 8.0
This is based on Kernel 2.2.19 which has Xfree 4.0 or 4.2 which does not support my i810 chipset. It requires the agpgart module.
My sound card is also not detected by Kernel 2.2.19
Now
I have been able to download zipslack 9.1 which uses kernel 2.4.22
Can I load xfree86 4.0/4.2 from my slack 8.0 pack or for that matter
all packages from slack 8.0 on top of zipslack 9.1.
Will this cause any problems.
I require this linux installation for basic tasks and learning purpose
browsing the web
listening to music or playing movies occassionally
image viewer
learning programming perl/python etc
I am afraid of the partitioning stuff
My PC config is
IT is a IBM machine
40 gb HDD divided into C(10) D(15) and E(4) gigs resp
56K modem
52X ASUS CDROM
64 mb RAM
If u have any sugestions on partitioning they are welcome.
Thanks and Regards
