i'm running fedora, and for the life of me, i can't get ut2003 to run faster than a slideshow with my nforce2 board with a radeon 9700 pro, using the 3.2.8 drivers. i have the drivers installed correctly, and this game ran great under redhat 9 with the 2.9 drivers.

america's army 1.9 ran great under fedora with the 3.2.8's, but now that i've installed army 2.0, it runs like ut2003 (very slow.) anyone have any idea what's going on here? wolfenstein e.t. runs great, but now my unreal based games run like crap.

try running glxgears and see what you get.

also, try glxinfo to make sure that it is actually using the correct glx and not the generic one from xfree.

Many people have had nothing but trouble from ATI's Linux drivers. You could try installing the older drivers that worked for you on RH9.

that's just the thing... i don't think it's the drivers, but something that's changed in the unreal code. aa 1.9 ran great with the 3.2.8 drivers. it's when i UPGRADED to 2.0 that things changed.

p.s. btw, i have another box with an nvidia card in it. their drivers suck too (4496.)
