RedHat 7.3 on laptop pcmcia

I bought a linux fo dummies book, and it has the redhat 7.3 installation on it, I installed it and everything was going fine, but as soon as it starts to load linux and goes through all the <OK>'s it gets to pcmcia, and it stalls for at least 40 minutes, that's the time I decided it just wasn't gonna load and I stopped


Anybody have any advice? it's a sony vaio 1.2ghz 512mb ram

I can't help with you the problem, but pcmcia in a nut shell, is the hardware for the little slot on the side were you put the little credit card look-a-like cards. These can USB cards/NIC Cards/adapters for just about anything/Modems and such. The pcmcia controler is used kinda like an interface with those cards. Hope that helps little ;)
